World Refugee Day: Art, Healing, and Belonging

Every person deserves safety, dignity, and a place to belong.

On World Refugee Day, we stand with displaced people around the world whose lives have been shaped by conflict, crisis, and forced displacement. We also celebrate their creativity, resilience, leadership, and the communities they continue to build.

At Artolution, we work alongside refugee, displaced, and marginalized communities to create spaces for healing, connection, and self-expression through collaborative art. From refugee settlements in Uganda and Bangladesh to communities in Jordan, Colombia, Ukraine, and the United States, local artists and young people are transforming public spaces and strengthening their communities through creativity.

This year, we invite you to explore the stories behind the work, meet the artists and communities leading change, and help ensure that these programs continue to grow.

In honor of World Refugee Day, we are proud to share Artolution’s 2025 Annual Report.

Inside, you’ll find stories of artists, youth, educators, and communities who are transforming public spaces, strengthening wellbeing, and creating opportunities for connection through collaborative art. The report reflects a year of community-led creativity and resilience across refugee, displaced, and marginalized communities around the world.

Read the full report to explore the people, partnerships, and impact behind this work.

Art has always been a way for people to share their experiences, preserve their identity, and imagine a better future. Courage Together brings together artwork created by refugees, displaced people, and host communities from around the world, offering a powerful glimpse into stories of resilience, creativity, and hope.

Developed in partnership with Refugees International and Arts for Global Development, this digital exhibition features works from Artolution programs alongside contributions from artists and communities across multiple countries. Each piece reflects lived experiences, personal journeys, and the strength that emerges when people come together through creativity.

Explore the exhibition and discover the voices, stories, and artwork behind communities who continue to create, connect, and inspire in the face of displacement.

"Art for me is a salvation. There are many things I cannot say, but I can express through art without uttering a word."
